23 today

(This is a late post. Should have been posted last June 22. Saved it as a draft before heading out to party but forgot to publish. LOL)

It's my birthday today! WOO-HOO! I am so excited! It's an odd thing. I sure don't feel a year older than 22. LOL. Today marks my 15th year of contaminating minds with my flights of fancy and penchant for penning psychedelic poetry and spreading my wealth of opinion and oblique remarks in debauched bitter-sweet tales that many have adored and some others have loved to hate...and I feel better than ever! (though i'm still 15 kgs heavier. LOL)

It has been rip-roaring fun going through the emotive stages of my life and in looking back over the years, I'm struck by one thing: how many amazing people I’ve met and came to love and be loved and others (oh, well some whippersnapper) whom I've considered an added wonder to the game of life.

I've had a couple of birthday cards from people I didn't expect to remember, which were touchingly dear to me and a few phone calls and surprises from relatives and friends from Germany, US and Hong Kong. I just want you all to know how much i appreciate your thoughts and the honesty that comes with them.

I’ve prepared some memes of myself today, not because you’ll want to read them, but because I've finally decided to open a part of myself to be shared here in the blogosphere. I’m a sentimental scamp (i can't believe i just admitted that!) and will take any chance to tell a yarn or two. It’s worked for 24 months so why stop now? Let’s hope this year won't be the last for my blogging years as I'd be entering the quarterlife-crisis-laden wedded bliss anytime soon. Wish me luck!

6 Weird Factoids About Me:

1. I have this weird habit of counting things subconsciously. Whether it be books, window panes, square tiles, staircases, doors, lines in a notebook, etc. I have them all counted in my head. Anything parallel and numerous stimulates my brain to start adding numbers and up 'til now I'm still counting the days 'til this weird habit dies out for some other good habit to come along and take its place. No luck yet.

2. I have a penchant for correcting other people’s grammar and spelling. I used to do that a lot in highschool and college but not so much now as I'm surgically attached to my pc day in and out.

3. I love Italian food — especially Lintuine con Asparagi e Gamberoni pizza and lasagna.

4. I always keep 10 black pens and 3 red pens on my desk and never use the same pen throughout the day.

5. I never reread a book. I have a reading list stacked to the ceiling to keep my eyeballs rolling.

6. I'm a certified shopaholic. I can shop and shop and shop..'til I run out of cash. One time, I went out with 5,000 php in my purse but after just 3 hours in the mall, I've spent 95% of my money.
